SAFETY & SECURITY

Maritime safety and security is our concern

The maritime industry is characterized by a growing quantity of movement and data, and yet stations at MOC's (Maritime Operations Centers) and VTC's (Vessel Traffic Centers) are manned by fewer and fewer operators. This increases the need for automation and multi-tasking. The rapid implementation of sensor systems, networks and other high-grade information sources has multiplied the amount of information available to a level that no human operator is capable of processing.

Navielektro has several decades of experience within the field of maritime surveillance, both when it comes to Vessel Traffic Service and coastal surveillance. We were at the forefront of developing digital Vessel Traffic Management Systems in Europe in the early 90’s, and maintaining the safety of life at sea still remains one of our main goals. Our systems aim to collect all of the data needed for effective maritime surveillance into the Recognized Maritime Picture, ensuring that operators can quickly get a comprehensive overview of the situation.

Operator Support

Our systems efficiently help manage and lessen the operator workload, providing users with a clear situation picture and decision-making aids. When operators are relieved form tedious tasks such as cross-checking and validating track identifications, they are free to focus on the big picture – and act on the information they receive.

Navielektro provides a complete solution when setting up VTMS or Coastal Surveillance systems – everything from sensors, processing modules and software to support and maintenance.

Applications

Navielektro’s software and sensors have been used to develop successful situational awareness systems for the maritime industry, including:
